Electrical Wiring Accessories Parts: Custom Brass Manufacturer & Exporter from India

Sourcing electrical wiring accessories parts that match your drawing, pass your inspection and ship on schedule is rarely simple. OK Engineers has machined brass in Jamnagar, India for more than 60 years. We make and export custom electrical wiring accessories parts, including neutral links, terminals, connectors, sockets and switchgear components, for OEMs, panel builders and distributors worldwide. Send us your drawing or sample and we will reply with a quotation within 24 hours. This page explains what we make, which brass grades and finishes we use, and how to specify your order so nothing gets lost between drawing and delivery.

What Are Electrical Wiring Accessories Parts?

Electrical wiring accessories parts are the small metal components that connect, terminate, earth and protect conductors in an electrical system. The brass pin inside a plug, the terminal that clamps a cable in a distribution board and the neutral link that joins circuits in a panel all belong to this family.

They look simple, but they aren’t. One badly cut thread or a pin slightly out of tolerance can mean a loose contact, overheating or a failed inspection at your end. That is why experienced buyers look closely at who makes these parts and how.

Most of them are made from brass. It balances conductivity, strength, corrosion resistance and machinability better than most alternatives, and it’s what we machine every day at our Jamnagar unit.

Why Brass Is the Preferred Material for Electrical Wiring Accessories

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. For electrical work it gets four things right at once:

  • Dependable conductivity for terminals, pins and connectors carrying moderate current
  • Strength to hold a thread under repeated tightening, where soft copper would strip
  • Corrosion resistance in normal indoor and outdoor atmospheres
  • Excellent machinability, which keeps complex turned parts affordable and consistent from batch to batch

It is also non-magnetic and takes plating well, so tin and nickel finishes are easy to apply.

Free-Cutting Brass: The Workhorse Grade

Most turned electrical parts start as free-cutting brass. In European notation the grade is CW614N (CuZn39Pb3). It contains roughly 57–59% copper, 37–42% zinc and 2.5–3.5% lead. Older British drawings call it CZ121, and the closest US equivalent is C36000.

The lead breaks chips into short pieces during cutting. That is why its 100% machinability rating is the yardstick used to rate other copper alloys. Faster cutting means better surface finish and tighter consistency.

We also work to IS 319 and BS 249 specifications, and we can machine other copper-alloy compositions when your drawing calls for them

Electrical Wiring Accessories Parts We Manufacture

Our range covers what most panel builders, meter makers and electrical OEMs need. Everything is made to your drawing, sample or specification, so treat the list below as a starting point, not a limit. You can also see our wider Brass Electrical Components Range.

Brass Neutral Links and Earth Links

Neutral and earth links sit at the heart of distribution boards and switchgear. They must carry current without heating up and hold their shape when tightened. We machine them to your hole pattern, thread and length, with natural, tin-plated or nickel-plated finishes.

Electrical Terminals and Terminal Blocks

Terminals are where a cable meets the equipment, so the thread and the clamping surface matter most. We produce terminal bodies, terminal screws and terminal block components in standard and custom threads.

Electrical Sockets and Connectors

This group includes brass sockets, plug pins and electrical connectors for domestic, commercial and industrial use. Pin diameter and finish decide whether a plug feels solid or loose, so we hold these dimensions closely.

Switchgear Parts and Panel Board Accessories

From inserts and contact parts to panel hardware, we supply components used inside switchgear and control panels. Repeat orders matter here, because a panel builder needs every batch to match the last.

Fuse Parts, Fuse Contacts and Fuse Connectors

Fuse contacts need reliable spring-free contact surfaces and clean plating. We machine fuse parts and connectors to your drawing, including complete assemblies with plastic or rubber parts where required.

Earthing Accessories

Earth studs, earth bolts and related fittings protect people and equipment. Corrosion resistance and thread accuracy are non-negotiable here.

Telecommunication and Automotive Electrical Parts

Brass connectors, inserts and terminals for telecom equipment and vehicle wiring are part of our range. These jobs usually involve higher volumes and tighter repeatability.

Electrical Insulating Components

We also supply insulating components and metal-plus-plastic assemblies, so you can source more of a sub-assembly from one supplier.

What About Conductivity?

Let’s be straight about it. Free-cutting brass conducts at roughly 26–28% IACS, about a quarter of pure copper. For most terminals, plug pins and connectors that is more than adequate. Contact area, clamping force and plating matter more than bulk conductivity.

For very high-current paths, copper is the better choice. We’re happy to discuss that with you at the drawing stage rather than after the first sample.

RoHS and the June 2027 Lead Deadline: What Buyers Should Know

This is worth your attention if you sell into Europe. The EU RoHS Directive normally limits lead to 0.1% in homogeneous materials. However, exemption 6(c) has allowed copper alloys with up to 4% lead, which covers free-cutting brass. The European Commission confirmed in September 2025 that this exemption continues until 30 June 2027.

Industry filed a further renewal request in December 2025, and a decision may take a long time. In other words, nobody can say yet what happens after mid-2027. If your product will be placed on the EU market beyond that date, speak to us early about lead-free brass options so your design is not caught out.

How to Choose a Supplier of Electrical Wiring Accessories Parts

Whichever manufacturer you choose, use this checklist:

  1. Ask for the exact brass grade. “Brass” isn’t enough. Get the grade (CW614N, C36000, IS 319) in writing.
  2. Check certifications. ISO 9001 is a baseline, and you can verify it.
  3. Request samples first. Test fit, thread gauge and plating adhesion before placing volume orders.
  4. Confirm tolerances and inspection. Ask how dimensions and threads are checked.
  5. Ask about plating thickness and salt-spray needs if the parts will live in humid or coastal conditions.
  6. Clarify RoHS and REACH needs up front, especially for EU sales.
  7. Agree packing and shipping terms before production, not after.
  8. Judge responsiveness. A supplier who answers technical questions quickly usually delivers reliably too.
